Someone allegedly read the script for Star Wars Episode 8. Spoiler: everything in this text may be a spoiler! Fans have unraveled the plot of the new “Star Wars” (details) The founder of the Knights of Ren was Luke’s student

“Ray, you are my father” and other sometimes strange guesses from Star Wars fans.

From the release of The Force Awakens to the release of The Last Jedi, fans of the franchise came up with a record number of different theories dedicated to new characters.

And this is logical. With the prequel trilogy, everything was clear: it was known in advance that Anakin would turn into Vader, the babies Luke and Leia would be hidden, and Master Yoda and Obi-Wan would go into exile - one could only guess about the details and minor characters.

We examine the most interesting and craziest assumptions of fans of the franchise and tell how The Last Jedi destroyed them.

Ray, I'm your father

The first thing that aroused the greatest interest among fans was the mystery of Rey's origin. A girl from the desert planet Jakku, who knows nothing about her parents, suddenly shows amazing abilities with the Force and can even resist the influence of Kylo Ren. And in the final battle, the girl completely defeats him, although she has never learned the skill of wielding a lightsaber.

Many theories immediately emerged about Rey's origins. They said that she was Luke's daughter, which is why she has such abilities in the Force and high skill with a sword. Or she is Han Solo's daughter, since she drives and repairs the Millennium Falcon just as well.

The story of Darth Plagueis, mentioned in the prequels, could also be interestingly revealed. According to legend, he learned to control power so well that he overcame death itself and could revive his loved ones. It is likely that Plagueis himself did not die either, but was hiding somewhere all these years, and, waiting for the right moment, took the place of the supreme leader.

In fact

Either version could someday turn out to be true, since Snoke's origins are not revealed in the story. But given the character's fate, the likelihood that anything will be revealed about him is quite low.

So for now, the closest thing to the truth is the fan theory that Snoke is an abbreviation for Sith No One Knew Existed (“Sith that no one knew about”). Snoke is similar to the emperor from the first episodes of the classic trilogy, so we may have to wait many years to find out his story.

Hatch to the dark side

This theory was born primarily because of the posters. It so happens that on most official Star Wars posters, the main villain is located in the background, as if behind the other heroes. As can be seen in the promotional materials for the eighth episode, it is Luke who occupies this place, and not Kylo or Snoke. In addition, in the trailer he says that the teachings of the Jedi must be ended, and in general he walks around with an ominous look all the time.

Various options were offered. From the completely radical: Luke deliberately persuaded Kylo Ren to the dark side and escaped. To more logical and restrained ones: Luke, over the years as a hermit, has been slightly damaged in his mind and has difficulty distinguishing between good and evil. And perhaps, by starting Rey's training, he will pull her to the dark side.

In contrast to this, there was an assumption that Luke is not evil after all, but he has been dead for many years and exists only as a Force ghost - it’s not for nothing that he dreamed of his own death back in the classics.

In fact

Luke is not a villain at all. He became disillusioned with himself and with the very teachings of the Jedi and left the world, going into hermithood like Yoda. He does not lean toward the dark side of the force and protects Rey from it. And they placed it like that on the posters simply because it’s beautiful.

Kylo Ren is on the light side

Kylo Ren didn't look like a canonical villain back in The Force Awakens. In addition, he was trained by Luke Skywalker himself. This gave rise to the theory about the “sent Cossack”. According to assumptions, Kylo is devoted to the light side of the force and sincerely wants to defeat evil. That is why he communicates with Vader’s mask - Anakin dreamed of the same thing before turning to the dark side. Perhaps the phrase: “I will finish what you started” is about this, and not about seizing power.

According to this theory, Kylo Ren is secretly mentored by Luke. And to implement the plan to save the galaxy, he must gain the trust of Snoke, since it is impossible to get close to him “head-on”.

Kylo Ren pretends to betray his teacher and go over to Snoke's side, supporting this legend with all his might. But the Supreme Leader forces him to do terrible things, and now Kylo is on the verge of a breakdown. In this context, one can perceive his dialogue with Han Solo completely differently.

I'm torn apart. I want to get rid of this. I know what to do, I just don’t know if I have enough strength.

Kylo Ren

Snoke ordered Kylo Ren to kill his own father. Of course he doesn't want to do this, but there's too much at stake. Kylo is ready to abandon the mission, but Han seems to give him permission, sacrificing himself for the common good. Although, if you think about it, this theory is clearly based on the image of Severus Snape from Harry Potter.

In fact

Kylo Ren is truly on the dark side. Once Luke saw in him too much influence from Snoke, and, frightened, wanted to kill his student. This is what completely turned Ren to the dark side. And even conversations with Rey, which were shown in the trailers, stirring up the interest of fans, are actually Snoke’s obsession, which influenced Ren’s mind.

In The Force Awakens, Rey has visions of several masked Sith, and Snoke calls Kylo "Chapter Master of Ren". But nothing more is known about them. It seems that in this case, the fans' assumptions are close to the truth. It's likely that some of them are actually former students of Luke Skywalker. He mentions that several young Jedi have joined Kylo Ren.

Han Solo survived

In the seventh episode, Kylo Ren, on Snoke's orders, kills his father. But not wanting to believe in the death of their favorite character, fans came up with several theories at once. Firstly, the death could have been faked. Either by simply piercing Han's clothes between his arm and side, or by using Kylo's ability to control plasma flows - after all, he stopped the shot of a ray pistol at the very beginning of The Force Awakens. And this correlates perfectly with the version of the “good” Kylo.

Secondly, they also remembered Darth Maul from The Phantom Menace. Obi-Wan Kenobi cut him in half, and hardly anyone could have imagined that such a wound was not fatal. However, in the Clone Wars series, Darth Maul appears with an artificial lower body. Interest was also fueled by the mention on various film sites of Harrison Ford in the lists of actors in the eighth episode.

In fact

Unfortunately, Khan is completely and irrevocably dead. It is unlikely that he will be able to even be a ghost, because Han Solo did not know how to handle the Force. So we can only count on his appearance in future films in the form of flashbacks.

Finn - the last Jedi

Despite the fact that Rey in The Force Awakens is a clear analogue of Luke from A New Hope, fans have found a lot of evidence that Finn should play the role of the last Jedi. He is drawn to goodness, and this even makes him betray the First Order, although the soldiers are probably brainwashed from childhood. He is Force-sensitive: Finn senses Starkiller blowing up the planet, just as Obi-Wan once sensed the destruction of Alderaan.

In addition, Finn is simply too lucky for an ordinary person, probably the Force helps him. In addition, Maz Kanata herself gives him the sword, and Rey repeatedly refuses to be a Jedi, and may be inclined to turn to the dark side.

The theory of Finn the Jedi is also confirmed by the fact that he, like Rey, enters into battle with Kylo Ren without any preparation at all. And many fans assumed that making Rey a Jedi was too banal and predictable and needed an interesting plot twist.

Fans continue to make theories about the upcoming eighth episode of Star Wars. The new official synopsis of the film on the Japanese website, which is dedicated to the new episode, added fuel to the fire. It says that Rey and Kylo Ren have a lot in common, as they both struggle with the Light and Dark Sides of the Force. We invite you to familiarize yourself with it in more detail:

Light? Darkness? Rey and Kylo seem to move between these two sides. A shocking new plot development awaits you in Star Wars: The Last Jedi! While the world was shocked to learn that Rey's proposed hand belonged to Kylo Ren, what's next for these two? Light? Darkness? Together they are driven by a mighty Force. Rey, who awakened the Force in the previous film, carries with her a sense of loss and uncertainty, which makes her vulnerable to the Darkness... Kylo killed Han Solo, despite the fact that he was his real father; will the small part of Light remaining in his heart be able to overcome the Darkness? These are two resonating personalities from whom we cannot take our eyes off!

Fans of the saga are already saying that Rey will turn to the Dark Side of the Force and the balance will change! Just look at the international poster of the film, where Rey is depicted as if above the rest in the place where the villain was most often located in the posters of the previous parts. For example, such villains of past films as Darth Maul, Darth Vader and Kylo Ren were in this arrangement. On the other hand, this place on the last poster was occupied by Luke Skywalker! The filmmakers clearly want to confuse fans and create an incredible surprise.

Don't miss also interesting news

“There was something... inside of me that was always there. Now it has woken up and I need help."

Still licking her wounds - both physical and emotional - from the events of The Force Awakens (just look at Kylo Ren's face and you're guaranteed to be psychologically scarred for life), Daisy Ridley's Rey is clearly in need of some guidance. the time when what will be shown in the new film "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" will happen. Having crossed the galaxy in her search for Luke Skywalker, Rey arrives on the planet Ahch-To to begin what she thinks is Jedi training.

Confirming what was previously known, the trailer released in October proved that Luke does fear Rey's ferocious Jedi powers, perhaps because they bring back bad memories of his Jedi Academy and, more specifically, how it was destroyed at the hands of Kylo Ren - the aspiring Jedi, previously known as Ben Solo, the son of Han Solo who died in The Force Awakens - yes, Harrison Ford himself insisted on the death of his hero.

It was this failure that essentially forced old man Skywalker into exile, and we understand that Mark Hamill's character spent those intervening years between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens searching for the last Jedi Temple. But how does all this apply to Rey? Well, way, the Episode VIII trailer certainly hints that the disillusioned "orphan" from the desert planet Jakku is about to turn to the dark side of the force. What can I say, genes.

Not only that, but a new synopsis for the film was revealed today on a Japanese website, and it also hints that Daisy Ridley's character is headed down a dangerous path. Check out the rough translation below:

Light? Darkness? Rey and Kylo, two people who seem to be connected to each other; A shocking new plot development awaits us in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Rey, who, although in the previous film "The Force Awakens" awakened this very Force, still feels loss and uncertainty; she will be drawn to the Darkness... like Kylo, who killed Han Solo, despite the fact that he was his real father; Will the small amount of light that still remains in his heart be hopeful and be able to defeat the Darkness!?

These two figures that seem to resonate with each other - we can't take our eyes off them!

Again, this is a very rough translation and is hardly concrete evidence that Rey will turn to the Dark Side, but it is certainly leaning towards it. Combined with all the other evidence we've already seen, we'd say it's very likely at this point that she'll choose evil - at least become more brutal in her methods, but that's just our best guess and in no way will confirmed.

Either way, all will be revealed when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15th. According to director Rian Johnson, we'll get a cliffhanger ending that should give Star Wars fans plenty to talk about until Episode IX is released in 2019.

Episode nine has undergone some pretty drastic changes recently. At the helm of the new film is JJ Abram, who gave us the remake of Star Trek and The Force Awakens. A new release date of December 2019 has been confirmed, removing the question of box office competition with the so-called Wonder Woman sequel.

Do you love Reddit as much as we do? Every day there is trouble for the studios. Let's see how right the user turns out to be, who posted a lot of key moments and plot twists in the eighth episode of the space saga, begun by George Lucas in the late 1970s.

Recently Oscar Isaac dropped the phrase that compared to “ The Force Awakens", the eighth Episode will seem almost arthouse to the viewer. He said “independent films,” to be completely honest. And the Reddit user in his spoilers is not so wrong - after reading the entire text, one gets the feeling that the film really will not look like an action movie, but will slow down the action for the time being.

But enough introduction. Let's go.

The film is divided into three equal storylines: Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren. They all intertwine only in the third act.

There's not much action in the first two acts, but the third act will blow everyone's minds.

Essentially, the structure isn't as similar to Empire as Awakening reminded everyone of A New Hope, but parallels can be drawn. Rey trains to learn the Force with an elderly Jedi Master (Luke) on an abandoned planet, while Finn and Poe find themselves in a beautiful city where dark things are going on. Finn and Poe are betrayed and captured by Kylo Ren. He wants to use his friends as bait for Rey, which will eventually lead to a duel between Kylo and Rey in the industrial area of the city.

The story behind Kylo Ren's murder of the Jedi is that Snoke lured Kylo and several students to the Dark Side of the Force and ordered everyone else killed. Only Luke and a few students survived, including Ray. Luke sends the girl to the planet Jakku.

Ray's mother died when Ren and his accomplices attacked.

Rey is angry at Luke because she considered him her father and also because he abandoned her. Luke turns to Rey and says, " No, you are my father».

Rey is the incarnation of Anakin Skywalker. Actually, Luke went in search of the first Jedi temple in order to understand the principle of the process. He learned that the spirit of the Chosen One is reincarnated by the Force whenever the balance of the universe is upset. This happens regularly, and Anakin was far from the first Chosen One. That’s why Ray wields the Force so masterfully—you only have to remember what eight-year-old Anakin did.

Ray is the product of a virgin birth, but there is no mention of midichlorians. Luke tells Rey that she is a “child of the Force.”

Luke does not want to train Rey, because according to Jedi history, the Chosen One, due to the chaotic power that flows within him, always has great difficulty remaining on the Light Side. Luke is afraid that Rey will turn out to be Vader 2.0, and she will turn to the Dark Side, which will cause more harm to the galaxy than Kylo could ever imagine.

Still, Luke takes on Rey’s training and leaves everything to the will of the Force. He makes this decision after consulting with the ghosts of Obi-Wan and Yoda (wait for the appearance of Ewan McGregor and the voice of Frank Oz).

Ray learns to use a lightsaber and the Force when she is visited by a vision of Maz Kanata and Hayden Christensen. Hayden-Anakin tells Rey that she is him, but she is completely different. A scene follows showing hundreds of other ghosts, hinting at Rey's past.

Rey senses that something has happened to Finn and tells Luke that she must go help her friend. Luke recounts how he too felt the same way and Yoda insisted that he stay and complete his training, but his insubordination resulted in pain. But Ray replies that Luke is not Yoda, and he solves his own problems, which leads to their departure together.

Finn wakes up on the Resistance ship, and learns from Poe that they are already on their way to the temporary planet where the center of the Republic is located after the main planets were destroyed by Starkiller Base.

Leia lobbying for the idea of starting a war.

The Republic is led by a temporary dictator, Lord Vikram (Benicio Del Toro), who came to power thanks to several senators trying to maintain order.

The destruction of the heart of the Republic by Starkiller Base led to a disruption in communications, as everything was brought to these planets. Vikram is trying to restore all contacts so that the Republic does not descend into anarchy.

The confrontation between Leah and Vikram begins. Vikram agrees that the Republic should go to war with the First Order, but wants to wait until communications are restored so that a solid army can be assembled. Now they have only a small fleet at their disposal. Leia does not agree, and wants to enter the battle as quickly as possible, before Snoke recovers from the explosion of Starkiller Base. Leia believes that both sides are in chaos and now is the time to strike. Vikram objects, arguing that Leia is drawing on the emotions associated with Han's death. In turn, Leia calls him “a political viper,” recalling that they used to spend several days in the Senate arguing about certain things.

The planet on which the remains of the Republic are located is protected by a powerful shield that is able to repel any attack by the First Order.

Leia instructs Poe and Finn to explore the city, since according to her information, spies of the First Order are lurking somewhere in the Republic. Leah suspects Vikram.

Leia's contact, Chala (Kelly Marie Tran), leaves a lasting impression on Finn. She goes with him and Poe in search of information.

Chala, Finn and Poe find Vikram's assistant, who witnessed the contact between Vikram and the First Order. Leia and the Resistance fighters arrest Vikram and imprison him for treason. He denies everything, and the rest of the Republic officials are simply horrified: in fact, she carried out a military coup. Leia takes control of the planet's defense systems and frivolously gives Finn the codes to control the planetary shields.

In a conversation with Chala, Finn briefly shares the strangeness in Vikram's behavior: for some reason the traitor did not turn off the shields for the First Order. They go into the room where they are waiting Captain Phasma. Chala takes out a blaster, takes Finn prisoner, takes the control codes and turns off the planetary shields. She says that she planted the evidence herself, and used Finn to get the codes. In fact, she considers him a traitor to the First Order. Phasma forces Finn to turn off the protective shields.

The First Order attacks the planet, capturing Finn, Poe and Leia. Kylo begins to torture Finn using the Force. He knows that this will lure Rae out of her hiding place and she will fall into his trap.

Okay, even if this leak turns out to be complete nonsense, we still had a nice time translating it. It's always interesting to compare later. Well, what if this is true after all? We would watch this!

Snoke stood and looked at the girl, replaying the words she had said over and over again in his head. There are too few arguments to go over to the Dark Side, to simply renounce everything that she so defended. But. Should she be allowed to continue doing what she wants? Give an opportunity? Definitely, you need to give a chance for the girl to express herself and show herself for who she really is. What was strange about the girl, and it did not escape Snoke's eyes, was that he could not feel her. I couldn’t detect the weakness, couldn’t understand whether she was lying now or telling the pure truth? So many problems and mysteries revolve around an ordinary scavenger. Even funny in places. “Okay, I’ll let you learn to control the power and become my student, but I have several conditions regarding you...” “I’m listening to you,” raising her chin, Rey waited for the Supreme Leader’s answer. - I don’t believe you, but you can convince me and maybe then I’ll believe all the words you say. If you fail, unfortunately, you will not live long, you will die the most cruel death, and if you try to renounce your chosen path, you will suffer a terrible fate... Is that okay? - Snoke said with a slow step, walking around Rey and stopping opposite, he looked into the face of the young girl, so hoping that, afraid for her life, she would give up, but even without knowing, fortunately or unfortunately, not a single emotion slipped through her eyes, Rey only responded looked at him and said: “I agree with the condition.” - Okay, but... I decided to make my own adjustments, Kylo will become your teacher, and now you can go, we will meet you a little later. Having ended the conversation there, Snoke walked over and sat down on his high throne. The stormtroopers standing on both sides took Rey by the arms and led her out of the hall; as soon as the door closed, a heavy and long silence formed inside, but after a few minutes the Supreme Leader laughed almost hysterically at the top of his voice. Ren looked up at his teacher, but didn't say a word. Having recovered a little, Snoke turned to Kylo Ren: “You doubt her too, right?” she really is dumber than she seems. You will have the opportunity Kylo, no, you must experience it. - Yes, Supreme Leader. Let me go? - Of course, go, I'm waiting for news from you. After a couple of minutes of grueling walking along the corridors of a huge ship, Rey was escorted to an unfamiliar door, leaving the scavenger alone, the stormtroopers turned around and followed a direction unknown to the girl. After standing near the door for a minute, Rey finally decided to open it and go inside. Pressing a button on the wall in front of Rei, a door opened. Leaving her doubts behind, she took a few steps forward. Having entered inside, lamps were lit from above and on the sides of her, allowing her to see what was inside. After walking along a small corridor, Rey found herself in a spacious room. It was bigger than all the previous ones she had ever been to. And certainly where she lived while still on Jakku. Large, in black colors, which in no way darkened this room, but on the contrary calmed the soul. Nothing provocative, everything is quite simple. Luxury, cleanliness and shine of new furniture. Absolutely everything attracted the eye, I just wanted to come closer to look at everything and touch it with my hands, just touch expensive things. Yes, one could say that Rey was pleasantly shocked by such a gift, because everyone in her place would have thought to see now an ordinary room with a single bed, a bedside table and a lamp. But here, everything is completely different; a double bed, beautiful lamps, a small carpet next to the bed and a window the length and height of the entire wall, so large that when you looked into it it seemed as if you were now floating in space. Approaching the subject of her interest, Rey stood by the window. At first she was even afraid to take a step forward, but overcoming such a stupid fear in her opinion, she stepped further and her hand was already pressed against the glass. Looking ahead, Rey thought about how big this world really was, the cosmos and the universe itself. Perhaps somewhere, her family and people dear to her are waiting for her. Also, someone looks at the sky and remembers her. She wanted to believe this, because she knew the truth about herself, she knew that this was a suggestion. While thinking about her thoughts, Rei did not hear the sound of the door of her room opening. - Like? A painfully familiar, hoarse, male voice was heard somewhere behind. Turning her whole body towards the source of the sound, Rey saw Kylo Ren already standing in the room. A calm pose, the same clothes... and a mask covering his face. Rey was in no hurry to answer him, to say “yes”? No, she still feels hostility towards him, not anger, but it’s as if he died for her at the moment when he killed his father and Rey could not fully forgive him for this. She didn’t understand why the man standing opposite her hated her loved one so much. The silence dragged on and, unable to bear the oppressive silence of this room, Ren turned to Rey standing directly opposite him, taking a few steps forward. - Why did you come? - I don’t understand you, what are you talking about? - Rei asked, trying to give her appearance a little courage and folded her hands in front of her, pretending that she did not understand what was being said now. - I asked a question. Why did you come here? Then, were you telling the truth? “Yes,” came the immediate answer. Taking a few more steps forward, Ren stopped right in front of Rey. - Well, I think you know what you signed up for. - What do you mean? - Rey asked, looking up at his mask. She hoped to see a face instead, but for some reason she immediately turned her head to the side. - You turned away. Do you still think of me as the “Masked Monster”? It’s a rather difficult question, because a lot has changed since the last meeting, most of all Rey herself has changed. No one else will see in her that girl who flew from Jakku. She's gone. There was only a small sediment left, ashes somewhere inside, which still made you hate, but there was something else inside that said something completely different, and allowing yourself to fail now because of some ambitions would be stupid. “It’s my thoughts that concern you,” Rey looked at Kylo again, her eyes running over his figure and rising to his face. - You're wrong. You understand that I don't believe you. - I don't expect anything from you. “Well then...” interrupting the conversation, Kylo took a sharp and quick step towards Rey, so that she would not be able to get her bearings in time and do something against him. Kylo grabbed the girl by the shoulder and threw her body against the wall. Screaming in pain, Rey closed her eyes, the next second she felt that her lungs could not get a simple breath of air, opening her brown eyes, Rey looked at Ren's ominous mask: Let's see how much strength you have... - Strength for what? - Hmm... - Kylo took his hand away from Rey’s reddened throat and, taking a step back, turned to the girl: Your first training session is tomorrow at 5 am and I advise you not to be late. On this note, the conversation was over and as soon as the door behind the Knight of the First Order closed, tears rolled down from his brown, large eyes. Rey sank to the floor. Wiping away her tears, she looked again to the side where the view of space opened up in front of her. There are only stars around. So beautiful that I would like to fly to one of them right now and live there. Not to know the troubles and grief that she knew early. Her throat hurt a little and if Ren wanted to kill her, he would have done it without any doubt. “If only I knew...” Unable to complete her thought, Rei closed her eyes. Getting up from the floor, she had only the last strength left to walk to the bed and, without straightening it, lie down and fall asleep. But she couldn’t fall asleep for a very long time, because she was thinking about a man in a black suit and a mask, the girl was thinking about what would happen if she couldn’t carry the burden that she had put on her shoulders and what was waiting for her. She asked herself again and again, but could not answer on her own.
